About Exam -
It is also known as SBI Probationary officer( P.O) exam. The SBI PO exam mainly selects candidates for the management cadre of the bank. The selected candidates are given role of Probationary Officers during the training phase. Afterwards they move on to the Management roles on completion of their training.

Educational Qualification :-
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.
Scheme of Examination:-
The selection for probationary officers will be done through a three phase process
Phase 1 ( Preliminary Examination):-
Preliminary examination consisting of objective test for 100 marks conducted online. The test will have 3 sections (With separate timings for each section) as follows.

Selection Criteria For Main Exam:-
.Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in preliminary examination
. There will be no sectional cut off.
. Candidates numbering 10 times(approx.) the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for main examination from the top of the merit list.
Phase 2 (Main examination) -
. Main examination will be conducted online and will consist of objective test of 200 marks and descriptive test of 50 marks.
. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after conclusion of the objective test and candidates will have to type their descriptive test answers on the computer.
A) Objective And Descriptive Test -
The duration of objective test is the 3 hours and it consists 4 section of total 200 marks. there will be separate timing for each section.

. Penalty for wrong answers (Applicable to both preliminary and Main Exam) : there will be penalty for wrong answer marked in objective tests. Each question for which wrong answer has been given by candidate, ¼th of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score phase.
Phase 3 -
The third phase consist of psychometric Test, Group Exercies and Interview.
psychometric Test -
. The Bank will conduct psychometric test for personality profiling of those candidates who will be shortlisted for phase 3.
. Finding of the test may be placed before the Interview panel for having thorough perspective on the candidates.
